The best leadership literature asks questions and does not give you simple answers, nor easy tips. It recognizes that leadership starts with you. With knowing yourself, with understanding why you get up in the morning and what keeps you late awake. It begins with accepting who you are and changing what you don’t like. Leadership does not end with you. It is determined by those you lead. Leadership means being ready to lead the ship,as well as to know when it is time to leave the ship.

Don’t measure success by fame, power, money, respect and position. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it. And if the price was fair, the rest comes as a benefit. 

All things change and we change with them … sometimes because we want to, sometimes because we have to.

You are not a firefighter - stop extinguishing fires which could have been prevented in the first place. Think more about avoiding such situations and start working on the “high value, low effort ratio”

At the root of every seemingly technical problem is a human problem.
The words of the tongue should have three gatekeepers: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Breath is the first thing you took entering this life and it is the last thing you will release and it is so important in between. It alters consciousness. It allows you to shift and change where you are.
Being honest may not get you a lot of friends but it’ll always get you the right ones.
We are so often caught up in our destination that we forget to appreciate the journey, especially the goodness of the people we meet on the way. Appreciation is a wonderful feeling, don’t overlook it.
If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.

“Socrates, I have just heard some news about one of your friends.” he exclaimed excitedly. Socrates said, “Before you tell me this news, we need to make sure that it passes the triple filter test.”

“Triple filter test?” the man asked.

“The first test is that of truth. Tell me, do you know that what you’re going to tell me is absolutely true?” Socrates asked.

The man thought for a time and said, “I heard this news from someone else, so I’m not 100% sure if it’s true.”

“The second test is that of goodness,” Socrates continued, “Is what you’re about to tell me something good?”

“No, actually it’s the opposite…”

Socrates interrupted the man, “So what you’re going to tell me is neither true, nor good?”

The man was slightly embarrassed at this point and shrugged his shoulders.

Socrates continued, “There is one final test which is usefulness. Is what you’re about to tell me going to be useful?”

“Probably not,” the man replied.

“Well, if you’re going to tell me something that’s not true, good or useful, then why tell me at all?” responded the philosopher.
